My conversation with Mrs. Bowden was a tearful one.
She told me Russ would always sit on the front porch and
watch the bikes go by. She said he loved the thundering
sound and talked about how nothing else in the world
sounded like a Harley. He said it was beautiful. Mrs.
Bowden has asked that we get as many bikes as possible
together and give her husband one last thunder that can
be heard all the way to heaven.
We will stage at Beldon Funeral Home (500 Oak,
Leavenworth KS), 9:30 am.
An avenue of flags will be presented as family and
friends arrive. At this time, the plan is to stage in
the parking lot (getting as many bikes in there that we
possibly can). Once the service is over, I will lead
Mrs. Bowden to the parking lot. I will present her a
flag and hopefully have Taps played. At that point we
will make the skies thunder for Russ.
Please pass this on to everyone you know. Mrs. Bowden
is counting on all of you. Please forward to everyone
you know that has a bike.
Thank you for everything you do!
