Patriot Guard/ALR
Letter From Jim "Skruffy" Finneran
Riders: would like to
share this mail with you from ALR 136 member Jim (Skruffy) Finneran.
Skruffy is active duty serving in Iraq (his son is as well).
We pray for all our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen , Marines & Coast
Guard that they may return home safe... Bronco 6
Cregg, just wanted to drop a
note about this ride. SPC Marsh is the 13th of 14 soldiers from my
sons battalion, (6 from his unit Company C alone), to pay the
ultimate price for us. This has been hard on him and the rest of
his fellow soldiers and from talking to him him I can tell it. All
of you that have been a part of these honor rides have my
gratitiude and respect for doing this each time you are called
upon. It is never easy to lose a friend but knowing that you and
the others are there to make sure that the fallen are buried with
honor and dignity helps these soldiers tremendously. I would hope
this will be the last one for the "Blue Spaders" and all the rest
serving over here but the reality is that it won't. I am proud of
my association with the American Legion Riders and the Patriot
Guard and look forward to getting back and riding with you all
again. What you are doing to honor the fallen is getting noticed
over here and and when somebody mentions it I make
sure they understand why we do what we do. Please pass on my
thanks to all the members for what they are doing, I know Jeremy
and his buddies appreciate it as well.
Ride Safe,
Skruffy
