This morning, I
spoke with Post 4 member Dave Wells about the surgery DJ (David
J. Wells) had this morning and wanted to update you and ask that
you continue to keep DJ in your prayers. This morning, they did
a decortication and toracotomy to remove an accumulation of
blood from around DJ's lungs. Although DJ's lungs were black
from smoking, there was a spot on one of his lungs that the
surgeon found especially troublesome, so he removed part of that
spot for a biopsy. I will update you on the results of that
biopsy as soon as I hear from Dave.
The doctors are
continuing to work on determining why his body is creating so
many blood clots, developing pneumonia and accumulating blood
around the lungs. Please keep the prayers coming that the
doctors will find the answers they need and that DJ will soon be
out of the hospital. He is still at Wesley, but will be in ICU
for a couple of days after he gets out of recovery. After ICU,
he will be moved to a room on the third floor and will, once
again, be able to receive visitors. I'll keep you posted as to
his progress.
